about
the album...
Nothing Short of Now is Brandon Pfeiffer’s
definitive collection of indie-pop/rock tunes. The brooding grooves and
contemplative energies compliment the consistent intimacy of Pfeiffer’s
lyrics, melodies and vocal performances. Brandon’s pop sensibility,
his experience in Americana and Classic Rock, plus his interests in electronic
elements all shine on his debut record, Nothing Short of Now,
available in select stores & online at iTunes, Rhapsody,
CD Baby, LittleAmericaRecords.com &
more.

from
the artist…
Today Matt said to me, “Nothing on Earth is free.” Dang...he’s
so right. See the truth is I’m a normal job pansy. I just can’t
work a normal job without being depressed. Telemarketing, substitute
teaching, cleaning floors, selling coffee, liquor, Chinese food...some
jobs were certainly better than others. Regardless, I got a wild hair
long ago to work really hard in unconventional ways to make money,
until I realized that those things eventually start to feel ‘normal’
as well. On top of that, you receive a lot of flack for being a college
drop out. But then Matt says to me, “Sometimes you just gotta
do what you do and not worry about what other people think.”
Dang...he’s so right. And considering I’ve still yet to
actually find a way to make money, I figure it’s high time to
just do what I do and to do it well.

IS THIS YOUR FIRST ALBUM? HOW MANY CDS HAVE YOU RELEASED?
This is not exactly my first album....on my own, I’ve put
out a couple solo/acoustic records that mostly consisted of various
demos, live takes, and one-off recordings; before that I’d
released a couple others under different band names. A few years
ago, my current band and I self-produced a few tracks for an EP,
but this new record is actually my first full-band, in-studio, non-self-produced
release.
WHAT THINGS INFLUENCED THESE SONGS?
people, the album wood/water by The Promise Ring, substitute teaching
for high school Photography class, Hilary Duff, borrowing friends’
guitars, and probably the great distaste (or maybe jealousy) I used
to have for John Mayer
